Soldier in NATO-led force dies in Afghanistan

(CNN) -- A soldier in the NATO-led force in Afghanistan died after an attack on his patrol, the force said Thursday. Another soldier was wounded.

The attack happened in the Helmand province of southern Afghanistan, a region of high poppy production and frequent clashes between NATO soldiers and a resurgent Taliban.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force did not release the soldier's name or nationality. E-mail to a friend
