An EgyptAir plane was hijacked this morning en route to Cairo and flown to Larnaca airport in Cyprus. A hostage situation ensued, but it has now ended with the hijacker in custody. Here’s what we know so far:
- Cairo-bound plane took off from Alexandria but diverted to Cyprus
- Egyptian national Seif El Din Mustafa claimed to be wearing suicide belt
- Cyprus says Mustafa hijacked plane over ex-wife
- All passengers are now free and the hijacker is in custody
- Officials say Mustafa is unstable but did not possess explosives
