Carl Azuz

Carl Azuz is the anchor of CNN Student News, a daily news program designed to bring current events into middle and high school classrooms. Having served in roles ranging from package producer, reporter and writer for the program, Azuz has covered every topic from the war in Iraq to the world’s most expensive ice cream sundae.

In addition to his anchoring duties, Azuz gives students a taste of the lighter side of the news with his "Off the Beaten Path" segments and talks about the news of the day and other classroom-relevant topics in his new blog, "From A to Z with Carl Azuz."

Azuz represents CNN Student News in public question-and-answer sessions with Atlanta-area schools and visiting student groups. His public speaking credits include national conventions, graduation ceremonies, charity events and student-oriented workshops. Previously, Azuz worked as a writer and associate producer for CNN International. As a pager writer for CNN Interactive, Azuz wrote and edited headlines for worldwide distribution.

Azuz earned his bachelor's degree in telecommunications arts production from the University of Georgia.
