 New York has 236 pledged and 49 unpledged delegates. Of the 236 pledged delegates, 154 are district-level delegates (based on results of a given district's binding primary), 51 are at-large delegates and 31 are "party leader and elected official" (PLEO) delegates. Of the 49 unpledged delegates, 45 are PLEO delegates and four are at-large delegates chosen at the state Democratic convention on May 17, 2004.
