Results: Clinton thanks Ohio for win against Obama
  • Ohio voters gave Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton's flagging campaign a crucial win March 4 over Sen. Barack Obama after a tough battle in the delegate-rich state.
  • "You know what they say," Clinton said. "As Ohio goes, so goes the nation. Well, this nation's coming back and so is this campaign."
  • Obama appealed most strongly to younger voters, while older voters favored Clinton, according to exit polls.
  • Republican victor, Sen. John McCain, overwhelmingly won Ohio moderates and conservatives, but he lost the evangelical vote to Huckabee, according to exit polls. Huckabee dropped out of the race after McCain’s victory became clear in both Ohio and Texas.
