Combs left college while still a teen to seek and develop recording artists, and within two decades had parlayed his skills into a multimillion dollar venture that includes his own record label, clothing line and restaurant chain. Combs became an intern at Uptown Entertainment while still a student at Howard University and was quickly promoted to a division director at 19. He helped craft the careers of Jodeci and Mary J. Blige and earned a reputation of successfully mixing musical genres such as rock and hip-hop. As the founder and CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs has been responsible for numerous multi-platinum and chart-topping songs and albums from Mary J. Blige, Smashing Pumpkins, Jennifer Lopez, R. Kelly, Sting, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Boyz II Men, Jay-Z, Dream, Lil' Kim, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Faith Evans and 112. Combs also developed and marketed the Sean John clothing line, which is available in Bloomingdale's, Macy's and Belk.
