November 1974: Nuclear Arms Limit
The United States and the Soviet Union, at a meeting in Vladivostok, agree to limit their nuclear arsenals. Each side agrees to have no more than 2,400 strategic launchers (i.e., bombers and offensive missiles) -- 1,300 of which could have multiple warheads.
