Professor Christopher Andrew
Historian specializing in espionage and intelligence. Co-author with Oleg Gordievsky of "KGB: The Inside Story."

Dr. Cyril Buffet
Historian specializing in Franco-German relations. Author of "To Die for Berlin."

William Burr
Cold War historian and project director on nuclear documentation at the National Security Archive in Washington, D.C. Contributor and member of editorial board, Diplomatic History.

The Cold War International History Project of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (CWIHP) Washington, D.C.
Director: Christian F. Ostermann. Established in 1991, the CWIHP disseminates new information on the history of the Cold War emerging from previously inaccessible sources in the former Communist bloc.

The National Security Archive (NSA), Washington, D.C.
Executive Director: Thomas Blanton. The NSA is a non-government research institute providing information from U.S. government and official archives for scholars, journalists, members of Congress, lobbyists and others. Their research teases out documents still classified to give a complete picture of what really happened.

The Department of War Studies, King's College, University of London.
Director: Professor Lawrence Freedman. One of the leading centers for study on the Cold War in Great Britain and in the world, its director acts as consultant to the series. The department has a particular interest in the effect of the Cold War on Europe. It includes scholars with special expertise in various areas of Cold War studies.

The Institute of Universal History, Moscow.
Director: Professor Alexander Tchoubarian. This organization is the principal center for Cold War studies in Russia and forms part of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Through this connection, COLD WAR scripts were reviewed by scholars who had access to the latest Russian and East European scholarship on the Cold War. Additionally, the Institute provided the production with ongoing access to archival sources throughout the former U.S.S.R.
