Crisp and clean is Cerruti for spring
From Style Correspondent Elsa Klensch PARIS (CNN) -- Nature meets NASA in the spring/summer collection from Nino Cerruti. That means outfits are either earthy or out of this world. Cerruti uses crisp fabrics that look weathered by the wind and sun or fabrics that are sleek and shiny after being treated with hi-tech processes. Some of his looks include plastic coated dresses, canvas jackets and perforated suede pieces. His palette has colors of stones, stark white and golden tones. "Our attitude remains dressing a real woman of today," Cerruti says. "No indulgence to be decorative or a woman as an object." Cerruti says his silhouette is "detached from the body." "This idea of seduction verses sexiness is another point that I like," he says. "Then there is very feminine, very modern at the same moment. "We abandoned definitely what we can call the lingerie look for something that is more constructed. But on the contrary, everything that is tailored has been softened down at the same time." Cerruti says his embroideries have a new elegance this season. He says they remind him of hieroglyphics or the modern works of American artist Cy Twombley. "A sense of sophistication -- rustic atmosphere," he says. "Again this subtleness of country becoming urbanized." | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
