Apple's QuickTime VR player allows you to click and drag objects in a 360 degree perspective. Use your mouse to twist and turn this animated model of the space shuttle.

As you twist and turn this 3-D animation of the shuttle, consider the following:
Rocket
The space shuttle is launched in an upright position, with thrust provided by the three shuttle engines and the two solid rocket boosters. After about 2 minutes, the two boosters are spent and are separated from the external tank. They fall into the ocean at predetermined points and are recovered for reuse.
Rocket The overall length of the shuttle is 184.2 feet
Rocket The height is 76.6 feet
Rocket The wingspan of the shuttle is 78.06 feet
Rocket The approximate weight of the shuttle, with solid rocket boosters attached, is 4.5 million pounds.
