| Breaking News3 People May Be Trapped in Rubble of Philadelphia Building CollapseAired July 24, 2000 - 9:41 a.m. ETTHIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Here's a live picture courtesy of KYW in Philadelphia. Breaking news story in that city this morning on the south side of town there. Apparently a building three stories in height has collapsed, at least partially anyway. Firefighters have responded to the scene. The word we're getting from the Associated Press is that at least two, possibly three people may be trapped in the rubble there, all three said to be workmen working on the facility at the time. Again, this is on the south side of Philadelphia. If you're familiar with the area, it's around South 2nd Street. And, again, firefighters have responded to the scene there. They're going through some rubble, etcetera, which has collapsed, we believe, just a short time ago. But, again, this is the first live pictures we have seen out of Philadelphia. We'll see what success the firefighters have here and we'll talk with some police throughout the morning and let you know what we get forthcoming here on CNN's "MORNING NEWS." We'll keep an eye on that for you. TO ORDER A VIDEO OF THIS TRANSCRIPT, PLEASE CALL 800-CNN-NEWS OR USE OUR SECURE ONLINE ORDER FORM LOCATED AT www.fdch.com |
