JUDY WOODRUFF, CNN ANCHOR: This just in to CNN, our White House Correspondent Major Garrett, who is traveling this evening with President Clinton in Boston, reports to us that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat called the president on Air Force One.
During that conversation, we're told, the president asked Mr. Arafat to call for calm among his people. We're told that Arafat responded that he is doing all he can to stop the violence. Whereupon, the president appealed to the Palestinian leader to do more, to do more to stop the violence, and to take that message to the Arab summit which begins tomorrow, Saturday, in Cairo.
Again that report just in from CNN's White House correspondent.
