THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: We want to bring you the very latest what we have right now. We have a live picture we can show you from Culver City. This is a helicopter picture courtesy of KTTV, they are in Los Angeles, showing the front end of that Target store. A number of law enforcement officials have responded to the scene there.
Again, 5:00 a.m. local time, 8:00 a.m. East Coast time, apparently in the transition between the alarm system from the overnight being turned from on to off, apparently, a couple of suspects, at least two right now, possibly three or more, did enter the Target building.
We are told at this time that throughout the entire situation there, no shots have been fired, no injuries have been reported. At least two suspects are in custody. It's also possible right now that police are looking for a third. That's why the cautious mode being taken just outside the front facade of that building.
In addition to that, we do know a couple different groups of employees who had been held hostage inside have led safely out of the building. The numbers we get through Randi Joseph, public information officer, the PIO of Culver City, says anywhere between 30-40 employees have been led outside.
What we don't know, though, is are there more suspects inside and are there more employees inside? Again, we will continue to track it throughout the morning. Culver City is in Southern California just on the outskirts of the city of Los Angeles. And we'll track it for you, again, KTTV, KTLA, and also our bureau in Los Angeles working this story for us.
