HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: CNN just getting some word in this morning, we want to tell you about, coming to us from the West Bank. Apparently, we are hearing that Palestinian militants beat and abducted the Palestinian governor of the West Bank. His name, Hieder Asheed (ph).
What we are hearing is the Jenin-based of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade apparently is now holding the governor, and accusing him of being an Israeli collaborator, who had been involved in many crimes against our people, that is a quote from that leader in Jenin.
Also, eyewitnesses are telling -- saying that the 50-year-old Asheed (ph), had been pulled from his van as he drove through the city. And he was beaten with the hands of these people, and also with guns, before they bundled him up and put him into another vehicle.
We, of course, are going to keep our eye on this situation and bring you the very latest as it does become available.
Once again, the governor in the West Bank town of Jenin, the Palestinian governor, that is obviously, has been abducted and beaten. And again, we will keep our eye on this situation for you.
