KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: This story coming out of Waco, Texas. More developments on a story that we've been covering for quite sometime now.
You're looking at live pictures out of Waco, Texas. Let me tell you what you're seeing here. We are told now that the Texas authorities are searching near the Waco area for the body of missing Baylor University basketball player Patrick Dennehy.

This search for the missing player is centered around a gravel pit here along the banks of the Brazos River. This is just miles from an apartment that he shared with his former teammate that is now accused of killing him.

We are told the search began after the roommate, Carlton Dotson, talked with authorities in Maryland. He was ordered held without bail in Maryland on murder charges today. His lawyers oppose his extradition to Texas.

Dotson, the 21-year-old roommate of Dennehy, has been charged after he made strong self-incriminating statements while talking to FBI agents about Dennehy's disappearance. Here you'll see him as he's being brought into custody. This here is Carlton Dotson the former roommate of the Baylor University basketball player Patrick Dennehy.

The search now is on in this area, a gravel pit, we are told along the banks of the Brazos River, this is just miles from an apartment the two shares when they lived together. The search here began after statements brought to the FBI via Carlton Dotson who is now being held on murder charges.
