(CNN) -- What better side dish for barbecue, chips and pie this holiday weekend than a heaping serving of quintessentially American music? At festivals nationwide, folk, bluegrass and jazz are keeping toes tapping through Memorial Day.
Here's a taste of what's going on:
- In White Springs, Florida, folk music and dancing are stirring things up this weekend at the Florida Folk Festival at the Stephen Foster State Folk Culture Center.
- In Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, they're swinging their partners 'round and 'round, at the rollicking Gettysburg Square Dance Round-up at Gettysburg College.
- In Guthrie, Oklahoma, the gay 90s and roaring 20s are as vibrant as ever, at the annual Guthrie Jazz Banjo Festival. Antique automobiles will also be on display.
- In Sacramento, California, more than 100 bands are performing traditional American jazz at venues throughout the city for the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. Organizers call it the world's largest traditional jazz festival.
- And in Decatur, Illinois, they're pounding the ivories at the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest. The Holiday Inn hosts the event, which celebrates ragtime, honky-tonk and old-time music.
