About

Max Foster is a CNN anchor and correspondent based in London. He is the host of CNN Newsroom with Max Foster, airing at 4am ET every weekday. He also reports on stories out of Europe for CNN US and cnn.com.

Since joining the network in 2005, Foster has played a pivotal role in its coverage of major world events, often anchoring live from the scene. He has interviewed everyone from Donald Trump to Steve Jobs and Dolly Parton.

As CNN’s Royal Correspondent, Foster leads commentary during British state and royal events and has interviewed more senior royals than any of his UK counterparts, including the now King Charles III, the Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He has travelled extensively across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas on royal tours, all experience that has made him a leading voice in the field.

Foster has led the network’s coverage on the recent major upheavals in British politics and monarchy. He was instrumental in CNN’s live breaking news coverage of the death and state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, reported extensively on the rise and fall of four British Prime Ministers, and covered the latest revelations from Prince Harry following his step down as a formal member of the royal family.

With over one million followers on TikTok alone, Foster also makes social media an integral part of his reporting. He has been named in AdWeek’s Creative 100 and TikTok’s Best 100 Creators.

Foster graduated from Cardiff University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration before completing a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism at Highbury College, Portsmouth. He had a 10-year career at the BBC before joining CNN, most notably as a business reporter for the BBC World Service and BBC Breakfast.

Foster is half-Swedish and lives in Hampshire, England with his family.
