Trash strike litters streets in Seville —
Pedestrians walk past a large pile of uncollected garbage on Thursday, February 7, the 11th day of a strike by garbage collectors protesting pay cuts and working hours. About 6,000 tons of rubbish has been left uncollected since the strike started. The management of Lipasam, Seville's municipal street cleaning company, rejected a plan by the city council to reduce the garbage collectors' wages by 5% while increasing their working hours, local media reported.
