About 300 people left the town of Roosevelt and its vicinity on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Klickitat County Emergency Manager Jeff King. King says the status of the town itself has been upgraded to level 1 (possible evacuation), but a level 3 (leave now) order remains in effect for areas outside.

Fire crews have established fire lines and are patrolling the region. No injuries have been reported.
