Vincent Margera, a “Jackass” franchise regular known for his antics as crazy uncle “Don Vito” on MTV’s “Viva La Bam,” died Sunday at 59.

“He struggled with kidney and liver issues for a while, and he put up a good fight. But he died this morning at 6:45 a.m. at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pennsylvania,” his sister-in-law April Margera told CNN.

“He said to me last week that he wanted everyone to know it was a good ride,” she said.

“He enjoyed himself and wanted to thank all the fans. He went through a lot, especially with the Denver stuff. He wanted everyone to know that he never did that,” April Margera said.

In 2007, Margera was convicted on two counts of sexual assault on a child, stemming from a 2006 autograph event in Colorado.

He received 10 years to life on probation and was prohibited from portraying Don Vito for 10 years, according to the Denver Post.

“Jackass” star Johnny Knoxville tweeted about Margera’s death Sunday. “You will be missed,” he wrote.
