CNN  —

The contestants for “The CNN Quiz Show: Race for the White House” might be competing against each other, but they all agree on who the real winner should be: charity.

Each team has selected a charity to receive winnings. The top team grabs $20,000 for its chosen organization. The losing teams will still get $10,000 to donate to their causes. And some good causes have been cashing in. This is the fifth edition of the CNN Quiz Show and contestants have raised a total of $200,000 in just the past year. This time around, three organizations will reap the benefits of presidential trivia.

Homes for Our Troops

Jake Tapper, host of “The Lead,” and CNN political commentator S.E. Cupp are playing for Homes for Our Troops. Its mission is to build specially adapted homes and give them mortgage-free to severely injured Post-9/11 veterans. They have built more than 200 homes for veterans across the United States.

Crisis Text Line

CNN political commentator Van Jones and John King, CNN’s chief national correspondent, are playing for Crisis Text Line. By providing a free, nationwide, 24/7 text line, Crisis Text Line connects those in crisis with a compassionate, trained counselor who is immediately available to help. If you or someone you know needs help through a crisis, text HELLO to 741741.

Boys & Girls Club of America

John Berman and Kate Bolduan, co-hosts of CNN’s “At This Hour,” are playing for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Founded in 1860, the charity provides after-school programs for young people. It has reached more than 4 million youths through over 4,000 local clubs across the United States.
