President Donald Trump again took aim at Joe Biden – this time targeting Biden’s updated views, most recently on abortion – to round out a week of insults between the two.

Trump slammed Biden in a newly released interview clip, calling the former vice president and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate “a weak guy” who has “recalibrated on everything” in light of criticism from his party’s left flank.

“He has recalibrated on everything,” Trump told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an interview slated to air Sunday. “He’s, everything he’s said he’s taken back two weeks later because he’s getting slammed by the left.”

While Trump did not explicitly mention the Hyde Amendment – which bans federal funds from being used for abortions except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother – the President’s criticism comes on the heels of Biden reversing course on his previous support of the policy.

“If I believe health care is a right, as I do, I can no longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s zip code,” Biden tweeted last week.

Biden told reporters Tuesday he would still support Hyde if women of all income levels could access abortions. But as largely Republican-led states implement strict new abortion restrictions – potentially setting the Supreme Court up to reconsider the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide in 1973 – Biden said he had changed his position because such access does not currently exist.

“I didn’t consult with anybody but me in that decision,” he said, adding, “What hit me was we’re in a situation where when the assault was going on in Georgia, what’s going on in Alabama, Missouri, it’s just outrageous.”

Trump and Biden took their dispute to Iowa earlier this week, each holding rival campaign events on Tuesday that featured targeted swipes at the other. Biden called Trump an “existential threat” to the country, and the President in turn labeled him a “dummy” whose “whole campaign is to hit Trump.”
