Morgan Neill

Morgan Neill is an international correspondent for CNN, currently based in London. Reporting in both English and Spanish, he is responsible for covering general news in the UK, as well as stories across Europe.

Since joining CNN in 2001, Neill has covered key stories across the globe. In 2009 he reported from Japan on the historic change of government there, as well as the economy¹s struggles to rebound from recession. In 2006 he reported on Cuban President Fidel Castro's resignation after nearly 50 years in power, and the transition to his brother Raul. He continued to report from Havana, serving as CNN's Havana bureau chief and correspondent from 2006 to 2009, the only American television correspondent based in Cuba.

During this time he also rotated in and out of Baghdad, covering President Obama's withdrawal of US troops and the country's struggles to ensure its own security. Neill has also reported for CNN across Latin America, covering political unrest in Venezuela, hurricanes across the Caribbean, a presidential election in Argentina and a mine disaster in Mexico.

Previously, he worked as a writer, copy editor and field producer for CNN International at CNN's world headquarters in Atlanta, where he worked on stories such as the subway bombings in London and Hurricane Katrina. His career in journalism began in 2000 as a print reporter in Mexico City, where he covered the inauguration of President Vicente Fox.

Neill has a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in foreign affairs and a master¹s degree in international relations with distinction from Boston University.
