Alabama has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1976, when Jimmy Carter beat Gerald Ford by 13 points. Like Trump, Mitt Romney, John McCain and George W. Bush all carried the state with more than 60% of the vote from 2004 to 2016. See 2020 primary results
