Adam Levine is the senior vice president of news and executive editorial director, leading newsgathering for CNN’s Washington bureau. In this role, he oversees all coverage related to the White House, Capitol Hill, Department of Justice and National Security as well as enterprise reporting out of Washington. Levine also oversees CNN’s investigative unit.
Levine was previously vice president of newsgathering in Washington, overseeing national security, law enforcement and enterprise reporting. He has led the network’s coverage of some of the most consequential news stories in recent years including the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, the special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2020 election, and the ongoing state and federal investigations into former President Trump.
Prior to that, he served as managing editor in D.C. and as the supervising producer for CNN’s national security team where he led CNN’s coverage of the killing of Osama bin Laden and the U.S. raid of the terrorist leader’s Pakistani compound.
Levine joined CNN in 1998 as a production assistant. In 2003, he joined the network’s election unit. He ran coverage of the 2004 presidential election before taking on the role of Director of Coverage in Washington. Alongside his reporting teams, Levine has received two Emmy® Awards.
Levine is a graduate of McGill University and earned his master’s degree in journalism from New York University.
