  • Chandler Thornton is a Newsdesk Producer for CNN based at the network's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong. She works on the International Desk across television and digital platforms, most recently working on stories including the coronavirus pandemic and Myanmar's military coup.

    Before moving to Hong Kong in 2020, Thornton was a Newsdesk Producer on the International Desk at CNN's World Headquarters in Atlanta. She covered a range of international news from the Jamal Khashoggi murder to Hurricane Dorian devastating the Bahamas, and wrote digital pieces covering the Haiti protests.

    Prior to CNN, Thornton was the assignment editor at KPRC in Houston, Texas. In Houston, she covered major national stories, most notably, Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and the Houston Astros' World Series win.

    Thornton graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism.
