• Julian Zelizer is Malcolm Stevenson Forbes, Class of 1941 Professor of History and Public Affairs at Princeton University and a New America fellow. He is the author of "Jimmy Carter" and the new book, "The Fierce Urgency of Now: Lyndon Johnson, Congress and the Battle for the Great Society." Zelizer received his B.A. at Brandeis University and Ph.D. at The Johns Hopkins University. He is the author and editor of numerous books that examine U.S. political leaders, policies, and institutions since the New Deal. Among them are: "Conservatives in Power: The Reagan Years, 1981-1989," co-author with Meg Jacobs (Bedford Books, 2010), "Arsenal of Democracy: The Politics of National Security - From World War II to the War on Terrorism" (Basic Books, 2010) and "The Presidency of George W. Bush: A First Historical Assessment" (Princeton University Press, 2010).
