Oren Liebermann is a CNN Pentagon correspondent based in Washington DC. He was most recently a CNN correspondent based in Jerusalem.

A journalist with a wealth of experience, Liebermann is responsible for covering the Department of Defense and issues related to national security.

Liebermann joined the network in 2015 and spent the next six years as CNN’s Jerusalem correspondent. During his time in the Middle East, Liebermann interviewed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu twice, as well as former Prime Ministers Simon Peres and Ehud Barak. He covered a total of four Israeli election and followed a changing Middle East as Gulf states normalized relations with Israel. His reporting also took him to Russia, England, Serbia, and Nepal among other places.

Prior to joining CNN, Liebermann served as a General Assignment Reporter in Philadelphia for CBS 3. Whilst working for CBS 3, Liebermann reported on major stories across Pennsylvania including Hurricane Sandy and the Penn State sex abuse scandal.

Throughout his career, Liebermann has won a number of accolades for his reporting including two Emmys and three Associated Press awards. Liebermann has a degree in Business from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University. He lives near Washington, DC with his wife and two children, and he is a keen traveler and private pilot. Liebermann has Type 1 Diabetes and is a passionate advocate for others with the condition.
